Holiday Units works in pretty much the same way as the conventional timeshare, but it has a lot more advantages thrown in about – the rest of this brochure will tell you more about it. Holiday Units is available as timeshare units. To avail of a holiday, you need to buy these units and exchange them for room nights (basically 24 hours in a room).

So how many units will a room cost? This is arrived at based on a calculation that takes into account the kind of accommodation you require, the season of the year you wish to holiday in (summer and holiday seasons are considered peak seasons. Likewise there are lean months as well) and the destination you wish to go to, to unwind.

At the beginning of each year your holding account will be credited with the number of units you have bought. This will continue for 25 years.

Let us illustrate this scenario with an example. Assume that a studio apartment accommodation in peak season at a resort requires 4 units/day. So, if you wish to have a 3-day holiday, you need to trade in 4 x 3 = 12 units for your holiday.

Please note that you can also accumulate, add or borrow Holiday Units as per your
needs!

Holiday Units helps you save tremendously on accommodation costs that you might otherwise spend on hotels and other stay options. Wherever you are, Holiday Units will ensure that you find a convenient place to stay, without spending more for it.

Holiday Units works on the basis of units that can be exchanged for a certain kind of accommodation at a certain time of the year. Please note that the units will vary depending on the season and the destination. To illustrate how these units work, we have provided a table below – but please note that all the figures here are purely indicative and are solely for the purpose of your understanding.

As seen above, the seasons are divided into three – red, when it is a holiday season, white when not everyone is rushing for a holiday, and blue, for the rest of the year. Keeping in mind the demand for different times of the year, you have to use up different numbers of units for different types of accommodation. So a 2-bedroom accommodation that charges 4 units per day during normal seasons will probably charge 6 units per day when the demand is the highest.

So based on your convenience and the number of units you wish to spend, you can embark on an unwind session with your family.

Unlike conventional Timeshare, where leisure resorts only are available, Holiday Units enables you to choose from a multitude of city hotels where we have tied up with. So, if you were to stay in Mumbai for two days, you trade in 6 * 2 = 12 Units.

Just imagine that you are planning on a holiday in Ooty. Since a 2-bedroom apartment in Ooty during peak season (say summer holidays) ‘costs’ around 6 units, the number of units for 2 nights and 3 days would be 12. With each unit costing Rs. 5500, the total expense works out to Rs. 66,000/- for a period of 25 years!

In short, for Rs. 66,000, you get 2 nights for 25 years or 50 room nights during peak season in a 2-bedroom apartment. This works to just Rs. 1320/- for each night. Chances are, you are saving around Rs. 2000/- per night, which would have been your additional expense had you preferred a yearly holiday at a hotel. And as the years progress, you will find that you end up saving more because, while the cost of hotel rooms will continue to escalate year after year, you will be paying the same Rs. 1320/- even in the 25th year. So your stay is adequately protected against inflation.

Holiday Units also protects you from inflation because the amount you pay at the beginning will make your unwind moments come true for the next 25 years. With an estimated increase in the apartment hotel / resort cost of around 10% per annum, you can imagine the kind if savings this will bring you!

Of course! Any unutilized Holiday Units units can be carried forward to the next year. So you can probably enjoy a ‘double holiday’ using units from the previous year and the current year! You can thus accumulate units for up to two years.

That’s not all! You can also carry forward units if you have fallen short of units for the year. So you can ‘borrow’ units from the next year for this year’s holiday. This is also permitted for two years in succession.
