The majestic rocks standing out against the azure sky. The
majestic Palani hills outlining the horizon. The deep, dark
woods that mesmerize. The lovely lake that gushes with
enthusiasm. And most importantly, the unique kurinji flower that
blooms just once in 12 years. Could there be a place on earth
that could provide a more exotic cocktail of nature’s splendors?
Could there be a place more beautiful than Kodaikanal?
Situated 2,133 m above sea level, Kodaikanal spans an area of
over 21 sq km. While most hill stations are renowned for their
scenic beauty and excellent weather, Kodaikanal goes beyond and
also serves as the high seat of learning, being home to
educational institutions that are popular the world over for
their high standards of education.
Step into Kodai and you would think that a series of picture
postcards have come to life. Walk along the rows of silky pine
trees in the slopes. Take in a deep breath of fresh air as you
walk by the Berijam lake. Or just look around as you soak in the
misty yet spectacular view. In all, it will be a vacation that
you are likely to remember for a lifetime.

Located 3kms from the bus stand, the lake was created from what

shaped glittering water body set in the backdrop of evergreen
lush slopes. Spread over 60 acres, the lake is bordered by a
tarred road of 5 kms length. The tourists can walk around the

Or just walk around, ride on horses and cycles, or sit there on
one of the cement benches or on the grass, to admire the
delightful sight and the wonderful colors and textures of the
landscape.
If you have prior permission, you can also go fishing.
|
|
Bryant Park
While Bryant Park is a very popular tourist locale, it is best
known for its annual horticultural show that is held every May.
A wide range of vegetables, the most exotic flowers and vast
hordes of people from neighboring villages – the show is never
short of numbers.
|

shadow on the clouds, a phenomenon called 'Brachem Spectre'!

cycling track – this has made cycling a very popular activity.
Cycles are easily available for hire. You can also explore some
